Fish to Table in Minutes

Cooking up fresh fish while camping is another nice way of enjoying “just caught” flavors.

The zest of life could not be simpler, reeling you in to commune with the greatest of all wildlife while yielding a very satisfying, nutritious meal. Before starting, have several basic pieces of equipment: a portable grill or the campfire version with a grate, a skillet if you prefer pan-frying, aluminum foil for wrapping the fish, and basic cooking utensils—like a spatula and tongs.

To season, consider some salt and maybe some pepper, even lemon, and perhaps some herbs, like dill or parsley, to bring out the fish’s essence.

Well, here is another campfire recipe that is simple, healthy, and most probably very tasty.

It is called Campfire Grilled Fish:

  1. Clean fish; make several deep cuts on both sides. 2.
  2. Season fish inside and out with salt and pepper.
  3. Fill the cavity with lemon slices and the herbs of your choice.
  4. Grill directly on the grate. On an open flame, cover in aluminum foil and lay on coals.
  5. Grill the fish on hot grill coals for approximately 5-10 minutes per side, depending on size, until the meat is opaque and can easily be flaked with a fork.
  6. Serve with fresh lime wedges for a delicious and rustic outdoor meal.
